Due to the relatively mild winter here and weird spring, we seem to have an overabundance of rodents in my area. Rabbits have destroyed my veggie and flower gardens, I smell le terrible odor of skunk at night, squirrels lie flattened in streets all over, and worst of all are the mice!

They invade my living space with no regard to privacy or good manners. I have found droppings in my house and yes, even my car. I have set out traps and caught a few, but they are so tiny now that the traps are not sensitive enough to trap the little rat bastids. Now onto the mocking. As I watch the television at night, one will run out from beneath the television stand and set up on his/her hind legs and sniff at me. It will stay like that until I yell at it, something like, "Hey you" and then off it scampers and I'll be damned if I can see where it goes. The other night one tiny terror ran into the bathroom and I cornered it and picked it up, which was it's cue to give me a nice bite. Not that I blame the bugger, but anyway, I grabbed it by the tail and tossed it out of the house.

Last night, it's buddy must have been lonely, and blamed me. He decided to pay me a visit that was much more up close and personal. I had my arm on the table next to the couch, when I heard a noise and, damn it all, there was the mouse right next to me, up on it's hind legs sniffing at me. It took off, when shocked, I yelled at it and disappeared into wherever it holds up. I have looked all over the place and I think I can see where these critters are getting in, but it does not end there, oh no, they mock me further. This morning I go to let my dog out onto the enclosed back porch and right in front of me hanging off the screen window on the outside, is another mouse running up and down the screen!

I don't get this at all. I am not their friend, so why do they always want to visit with me? I miss my cat!!!!
